Shatta Wale ‘Shocked’ by Massive Turnout at ShattaFeast Concert

Dancehall superstar Shatta Wale has expressed his astonishment at the overwhelming crowd that turned up for his ShattaFeast concert held at the Independence Square in Accra on Saturday, October 18, 2025, as part of celebrations for his 40th birthday.

Known for his unmatched ability to draw massive crowds, Shatta Wale once again proved why many hail him as the “King of the Streets.” The event saw a historic turnout, with fans flooding the venue and surrounding areas to celebrate the milestone with the “Melissa” hitmaker.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the offices of Mobile Money Limited (MTN Ghana) on Monday, October 20, to thank the company for its partnership, Shatta Wale admitted he was still in disbelief over the crowd size.

“I’m still shocked at the crowd. Maybe you’ll think I have the following, but God is bringing us together to motivate the youth,” he said.
“I’m so happy that this time, I got you on one of my shows. It has always been my dream to work with your entity.”

He also praised MTN Ghana for their collaboration and reiterated his readiness to support future projects, saying, “I’m always available for any collaboration and support that I can also offer your office.”

Shaibu Haruna, CEO of Mobile Money Ghana, shared in the excitement, admitting he was equally surprised by the magnitude of Shatta Wale’s following.

“I had no clue the kind of following you have. I obviously knew you had a powerful fan base, but this weekend was extra special,” he said, commending the artiste for inspiring the youth and breaking boundaries in the music industry.

Former manager Sammy Flex also revealed that the event exceeded all expectations, describing it as one of the most attended outdoor concerts in Ghana’s history. According to him, the initial crowd estimate of 100,000 was far below the reality, as over 300,000 fans thronged the Independence Square and its environs.

“We didn’t anticipate the huge numbers at all. They filled the entire square, the stands, and even spilled into the streets. The drone shots captured people stretching from the stadium area all the way to Osu and Tema Station. The whole place was packed,” he told Hitz FM.

Despite the mammoth turnout, organizers managed to maintain safety at the venue. Sammy Flex noted that a few fans experienced exhaustion due to the heat, but emergency measures were swiftly taken.

“When the heat got intense, I asked the Fire Service to step in to sprinkle water on the fans. We had ambulances and five other emergency cars on standby to handle any situations,” he said.

With ShattaFeast 2025 now making history for its record-breaking attendance, it further cements Shatta Wale’s legacy as one of Ghana’s most influential and crowd-pulling musicians.
