O’Reilly Senior High School has delivered an impressive performance in the ongoing 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), confidently emerging victorious in their preliminary contest held at the SGS Auditorium in Cape Coast. The Accra-based school demonstrated focus, teamwork, and academic excellence throughout the five rounds, finishing with a commanding 40 points. Their competitors, St. Andrews SHS, trailed with 31 points, while SDA SHS, Bekwai, ended with 27 points after struggling to match the pace and precision of O’Reilly’s contestants.

From the very first round, O’Reilly SHS established their dominance through quick responses and a firm grasp of scientific and mathematical concepts. Their contestants maintained their composure even in the high-pressure buzzer rounds, consistently earning applause from the audience for their accuracy and teamwork. The decisive moment came in the problem-solving round, where O’Reilly gained a significant edge, widening the gap and securing a comfortable lead that carried them to victory.
This win marks a remarkable achievement for O’Reilly SHS, signaling their intent to make a deep run in this year’s competition. Advancing to the one-eighth stage, the school has now positioned itself as a strong contender among Ghana’s top academic powerhouses. The victory also reflects the school’s growing investment in science and mathematics education, as well as the dedication of its teachers and quiz trainers who have worked tirelessly to prepare the team.

As O’Reilly SHS moves forward in the competition, their supporters are hopeful that this momentum will carry them even further, potentially earning them a place among the elite schools in the later stages of NSMQ 2025. The team’s display of confidence, discipline, and intellectual skill at this stage serves as a powerful reminder that determination and preparation remain key ingredients in achieving academic excellence.
